This is just about the most amazing ‘experience’ in a restaurant.
The CN Tower in Toronto is amazing anyway, but the 360 Restaurant is the cherry on the cake.
It’s essential to book the 360 Restaurant for sure, prob. a week or two in advance preferably. We booked for 7PM but they could not guarantee a window seat.
When we arrived you tell the staff you’re eating in the 360 Restaurant and that bypasses any entrance fee – after your meal you get to explore the CN Tower free of charge.
We went to the restaurant where we were shown a non-window seat, we asked if we could get one, they said wait an hour. So we did – and it was worth it. You can spend an hour downstairs at the cafe looking at the boats and planes landing on the nearby air strip.
We were shown to our table at 8pm. The view changes slowly as you rotate ‘360′, but you would not notice. It does not make you sick or anything like that. You just look down at your food, look up and the scenery has changed again over-looking Toronto.
The menu is fairly normal food, but done to a high standard. I ordered fillet steak and lobster – I had no idea how to eat lobster so I asked for the meat to be removed from the claws etc. This was no problem which again is the tribute to the service at 360 Restaurant. The food is 9/10, excellently cooked and prepared.
We spent as long as possible on our meal, taking nearly 2.5 hours. That seemed no problem for the staff (it was a weekday). We eventually watched the sun set and nightime fall over Toronto – amazing!
Deserts are great, I’d recommend the cheesecake. Lovely and light, fantastic flavour and texture.
It is difficult to take photos at night because of the glass reflecting, so would advise to take pics during daylight. Also some woman dropped her bag between the rotating glass and her chair, it jammed. Just a word of warning, don’t be stoopid! The noise levels are quite high as it’s noisey Canadians talking loudly, more like being in a bar but looking like a restaurant.
Basically, you haven’t lived till you’ve tried 360 Restaurant - I’m thinking of going to Toronto again just for the restaurant!
